There are 26 authorized marijuana licensed producers of dried marijuana as of August, 2015. The producers that have 2 different types of licensing; cultivation only and cultivation and sale. Regulated Dispensaries
Vancouver has over 100 marijuana dispensaries operating, which exceeds the number of Tim Horton’s the city has. The dispensaries are technically not legal operations, but the Vancouver Police have been openly vocal that these operations are not a police priority. On June 24th 2015 regulations were announced to curb the ballooning numbers unregulated dispensaries. These new regulations will introduce an annual $30,000 license fee to retail operations selling marijuana. They can also not be within 300 meters of a community centre or another dispensary which will force some locations to relocate. White Palm will be working with dispensaries in Vancouver as well as across Canada as the rapid shift towards regulation continues.
